6 Terrible Protein Bar Ingredients {avoid these!}

Protein bars are good for you. Right?

That depends what’s in them.

Eating healthy is only eating healthy if you’re ACTUALLY DOING IT.

But how do you know? These are SIX TOXIC ingredients that you should avoid.

TOXIC INGREDIENT #1: High Fructose Corn Syrup

high fructose corn syrup

According to doctors, HFCS is NEVER good for you. It’s completely made from GMOs.. Avoid it. Unhealthy in both high and low amounts, HFCS can make you more susceptible to obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and can even lead to heavy metal poisoning in large amounts.

TOXIC INGREDIENT #2 : Soy protein

Soy has catastrophic effects for certain body types. Genetically modified soybeans have been shown to cause inflammation… and even tumors in some.

Be cautious of protein bars with soy. More importantly, be cautious of everything with soy – it contains goitrogens, substances that disrupt the production of thyroid hormones.

TOXIC INGREDIENT #3 : Artificial Sweeteners

artificial sweeteners

This one’s obvious. If the name itself doesn’t put you off to artificial sweetener, then you should understand how these fabricated “low-calorie” sugar substitutes wreck your metabolism.

Artificial sugars shorten the path to diabetes, obesity, and heart risk, and should be avoided at all costs.

Natural sugar – in the right amount – is important to include in your diet. Protein bars can be both sweet and healthy. However, they should be used with natural sugar ingredients. Dates, figs, and berries are all loaded with natural sugars and can be used.

Then there are the other three toxic ingredients, including oils and starch products, that we’ve yet to mention.

Before anything further, take this.
