The particular study looked at an elderly population in Italy and could not determine any noticeable differences in the Resveratrol levels in the urine of those who lived longer versus those who did not.

In Greece, for example, people lived longer than average and wine consumption is part of daily cultural life, maybe it is just a happy accident, but if it means an excuse to drink a little wine…yes, please.

4. A Stronger, Smarter Brain Capacity

You read correctly, Columbia University conducted a study which reached the conclusion that brain function declines more quickly in those who do not drink alcohol than those who drink moderately (one glass nightly for women and two for men).

If Columbia isn’t enough, Loyola University conducted a study which found that those who drank a regular glass of red wine had almost a 25% lower chance of developing the memory disorder of dementia.

5. The Key to a Happier Lifestyle

I mean, if you drink wine and know how to enjoy it, this is kind of pointless information because you know how great a glass of wine is, but as it turns out, clinically there is a tangible mental benefit wine drinkers enjoy! There was a Spanish study done that found moderate wine drinkers are less likely to develop depression.
