Next time you go grocery shopping, skip the beauty aisle.
Instead, head over to your standard grocery aisles for these five skin miracle foods…
Green Tea
Drinking green tea has long been known to have rejuvenating effects on your skin. This tea is full of antioxidants which are useful in keeping toxins away from your skin. Not only that, but fighting inflammation in your skin as well. Green tea also contains catechins. Catechins naturally increase oxygen and blood flow to your skin resulting in radiant completion… while making your skin look amazing. Studies have shown that drinking green tea every day will give you smoother skin regardless of whether or not you’re regularly exposed to high levels of ultra violet light. Other research suggests that drinking green tea daily can actually lower your risk of skin cancer.
Fish
If you want to keep your skin looking healthy, then you need to avoid eating foods that cause inflammation. Instead, choose foods that decrease inflammation in your body. Fortunately, fish is a perfect fit in doing just that. Fish have a secret weapon in the battle against general inflammation. Omega-3 fatty acids. Because fish is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, eating a diet high in fish will result in healthy, younger-looking skin. A good place to start is in the coldwater fish section. Fish such as cod, mackerel, and salmon. Add a little turmeric to your recipe for some extra inflammation fighting power.
Berries
While berries may be small… they are absolutely packed with antioxidants. There are a number of foods with high amounts of antioxidants, but not many are not as impressive as general berries. A good place to start is with strawberries, blackberries and blueberries. These berries will give you the most antioxidant bang for your buck.
Nuts
Nuts in general are great for your skin. However, if you really want to do the best job protecting your skin, you may want to reach for brazil nuts and walnuts. Brazil nuts are packed with selenium. Selenium can help your immune system and heal on-going acne symptoms and problems. Walnuts however, are full of omega-3 fatty acids and biotin. Biotin is a type of vitamin B that will actually help skin conditions such as eczema. These two things together, work wonders to make your skin elastic and extremely moisturized. (they’re also pretty tasty)
Olive Oil
Finally, olive oil is another great way to ensure you’ve got the healthiest skin possible. This oil will remove toxins from your body and keep inflammation at an all-time low. As well as being a wonderful addition for your skin, your heart and brain will benefit from eating this healthy oil as well. It’s packed with healthy fats that keep your skin balanced and simple. Studies have shown that you can actually decrease signs of aging skin when you regularly add olive oil to your diet.
As you can see, taking care of your skin involves a lot more than simply reaching for a medicine or special cream. While you may be able to enjoy short-term benefits from pouring unmeasurable amounts of these on your skin, the best healing comes from the inside. If you want to take the best care of your skin and make sure that it’s in tip-top shape, look to your diet first.
