Healthy Alternatives to Coffee {Dramatically Increase Your Energy}

Healthy Alternatives to Coffee {Dramatically Increase Your Energy}

Why do you reach for that cup of coffee first thing in the morning. The appeal of a cup of coffee in the morning is obvious. Not only does it smell great when it is brewing, but you also get that kick of caffeine into your system. Coffee helps shake the cobwebs from your brain so you can get those wheels turning. However, their are several healthy alternatives to coffee.

Too much coffee can cause a variety of problems.

Your daily coffee can easily become your worst addiction.

The more you drink, the more you’ll need.

That morning kick you often desire significantly reduces over time and you’ll find yourself looking for other sources of energy to add to the mix.

Not ideal.

Let’s take some time to examine some healthy alternatives to coffee, you could try instead.

Teeccino

teecino tea

Coffee can be very hard on your digestion and cause problems that you would be better to avoid, but a great alternative is Teeccino.

Teccino has a taste and texture that is very similar to coffee, but it is made from a component of chicory root.

Not only does it leave you with the taste and experience of drinking coffee, but because it is made from this root, the fibrous nature of the source will aid in your digestion. This way you get a double benefit from this option.

Can Chamomile tea help wake you up?

chamomile tea

Since camomile tea is an herbal tea and doesn’t contain caffeine, it will not get you going in the morning. However, this is not the only reason people drink coffee.

Imagine you have just finished a large meal and someone is offering something for dessert. Isn’t your first instinct to look for a cup of coffee to go with it?

Sometimes we drink coffee as a way to wind down. Isn’t it better to look for a soothing cup of tea to help instead of a bolt of energy you did not really want in the first place?

Try a cup of camomile tea next time instead and see how it can help you.

Not a fan of Chamomile? Try Ginger Tea

ginger tea

Since camomile tea will not be beneficial in the mornings, you could opt to try out a nice hot cup of ginger tea instead.

There is a nice kick to this particular tea. The best part about ginger tea is that it can also help you out with a variety of other concerns.

Ginger is an excellent digestive aid and also helps with joint pains since it has been proven to reduce swelling and inflammation.

It is also associated with a reduction in appetite which can assist with weight loss.

Sounds nice, right?

Need a substitute for soda? Try kombucha

kombucha

Kombucha is a naturally produced tea made from the fermentation process for a SCOBY (“symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast” in case you weren’t aware of that terminology.)

It can take a few weeks to make your own once you discover the process, but it is also something you can find at stores without much trouble.

The drink itself is a semi sweet liquid that is low in calories even though the initial process involves a large amount of sugar. This is because most of that sugar is burned away in the fermentation.

Try a sip. It’s not for the faint of heart but a ton of people LOVE it.

Yerba Mate tea is often an excellent substitute

yerba mate

If you love the buzz of coffee, you should try some yerba mate.

Yerba mate will provide that kick, but also give you plenty of health benefits you can enjoy as well.

The first benefit is that it has a natural compound that promotes better blood flow in your body. This is huge since the better your blood flow is, the better your health will be.

You don’t want to have constricted blood vessels in your life at all.

There are some reports that Yerba Mate can also help your body maintain insulin levels, but that is yet to be confirmed.

What we can confirm is that yerba mate is loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that can be extremely beneficial to your body and overall system.

It even has more antioxidants than green tea.

Get some pep from peppermint tea

peppermint tea

Peppermint tea is a great option as a coffee alternative, because even though it doesn’t have any caffeine in it, there is still the benefits that come from this soothing drink.

First, the flavor is strong and refreshing. Peppermint tea also helps to keep your body relaxed and soothed. Part of that soothing comes from the menthol contained in the leaves. This menthol helps to cool your body and provide relaxation.

Some people use peppermint tea when they are sick to help cool their bodies down, but there is no confirmed proof that it is a real remedy for that.

Licorice comes as a tea? Who would want that?

Not everyone like the flavor of black licorice, but it can have many positive effects on your system.

One important note – the anise flavor that turns some people away from black licorice is not actually the flavor of licorice tea.

It contains a natural sweetener which has a similar flavor, however, less harsh and insistent.

On the positive side of things, licorice tea has been used to treat sore throats and has also been proven as a dietary aid. Part of that benefit comes from the natural sweetness of this tea.

Have a glass of coconut water

coconut water

Coconut water is a great liquid option because it has a subtle sweetness, but also comes loaded with nutrients and less sugar than most fruit juices.

One glass of coconut water has more potassium than an entire banana.

It can also come in handy as a way to replace fluids and electrolytes after a work out. Because of those electrolytes, a glass of coconut water is a great morning drink to help with that hangover you are trying to take care of.

Have you tried Rooibos Tea?

rooibos tea

Rooibos teas have a great flavor and can often be found in a variety of tea blends.

People have reported that this tea is great to help with headaches and insomnia, but this has not been thoroughly tested.

If you are looking for a great drink to help out with those pesky free radicals, then this tea will help you with a wide variety of antioxidants such as nothofagin and aspalathin.

Finally, rooibos is so rich with flavonols, flavones, and flavanones that it is a great way to fight back against cancer.

This too, still needs further investigation before it is proved for certain.

Give Turmeric tea a try

turmeric tea

Want to help boost your brain power and improve your memory? Then turmeric tea may be the best option for you.

Curcumin is an active ingredient in this tea and has been associated with improved memory and mental health.

Curcumin helps to block beta-amyloid plaque build up in your brain which helps to reduce the impact of memory degrading diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.

Many cultures with long life spans drink turmeric teas on a regular basis with the intent to expand their life-span.

Turmeric teas have also been linked to a reduction in inflammation as well as cancer risks which are some great benefits.

Jump on the green tea buzz

green tea

Finally, we will look at the most popular tea based coffee alternative.

Green teas have a healthy dose of caffeine in them which will help you get going in the morning without the negative effects you will encounter coffee.

Green tea is loaded with compounds stuffed with bioactive elements that can impact your health in a positive direction.

There are numerous antioxidants in green tea that will improve your health and reduce free radicals you might be trying to keep under control.

Green tea has been linked to improved memory, weight loss, as well as improved focus.

Some view it as a miracle drug. Probably because it has a lot of great and proven results to argue against.
